Luis Trenker filmed
his Alpine drama "Mountains in Flames"
here. The ski pioneer Hannes Schneider was born
here in 1890.
Not for nothing
is cosy Stuben regarded as the cradle of Alpine
skiing. And to this day it attracts people who invest
all of their passion in the versatile runs of the
Albona (which, by the way, are connected directly
with the ski areas of St.Christoph and St.Anton),
who are searching for a dream in white and who meet
in the evenings for a gemütliche get-together.
The closest mountain,
the Albona, which always has enough snow, offers
skiing fun right through to May on its famous firn
snow and deep snow slopes far away from the masses.
And the free ski bus to Zürs and Lech opens
up virtually unlimited possibilities.
People get together here the same way they did 100
years ago in the resort's quaint old inns.
